#292 - Chapter 26: Trial by Combat (Part 3)
Liu Yuan strode up to Gregor, looking down at him with a condescending gaze as he lay on the ground.
"You've lost," Liu Yuan declared in a calm tone.
At this moment, Gregor was covered in wounds, his once-impregnable armor now broken and cracked, revealing grotesque, purplish-blue scars underneath. Despite this, he clenched his teeth, staring at Liu Yuan with resentment and fury, but he was exhausted and had no strength left to fight.
Seeing this, Liu Yuan slowly walked up to Gregor, quietly gazing at him for a moment before saying, "Seeing you like this, it seems you're still dissatisfied! But someone with your talents is wasted serving the Lannister family, but unfortunately, Tyrion is my close friend, and I can't just stand by and watch him die." With that, he raised his size 44 foot and stomped hard on Gregor's helmeted head. With a loud crash, the floor tiles beneath his feet flipped up, and he used the force to slam Gregor's head into the hard ground.
Then, he slowly raised his head, his gaze falling on those sitting in the main seats above. The corners of his mouth curved slightly upward, with a hint of an almost imperceptible smile, and he said, "It seems the outcome of this contest is decided, and the result is obvious, wouldn't you agree? Should those of you seated there announce the result?" His voice was not loud, but it clearly reached everyone's ears.
At this moment, Cersei's face was full of resentment, she stared intently at Liu Yuan, the venom in her eyes seeming to burst forth. It was a hatred that wanted to tear him to pieces, and anyone could feel the anger in her heart. She clenched her fists so tightly that her nails dug deeply into her palms, as if only this could slightly alleviate the anger within.
In contrast, Mace Tyrell seemed indifferent. Although he didn't like the Clegane who had once defeated him, he didn't have much affection for the Lannister family either, especially the Mountain, with his cruel methods. Whoever ultimately became king made little difference to him—after all, even if he had a different son-in-law, his daughter could still sit firmly as queen. So, the victory or defeat of this struggle would not bring about any substantial change for him.
Jaime, on the other hand, breathed a sigh of relief. He secretly rejoiced that his brother's life had finally been saved. His expression was very complicated, first looking at Liu Yuan, and then shifting his gaze to Cersei. This result was perhaps not so bad for him. At least, Cersei would never marry a man like Liu Yuan. Thinking of this, Jaime felt an inexplicable sense of relief.
Tywin's face was extremely gloomy, and he slowly stood up, his eyes flashing with uncontrollable anger. The situation had once again slipped out of his control, which made him feel incredibly angry yet helpless. He took a deep breath, trying to calm his emotions, and then announced loudly:
"The will of the gods is clear, Tyrion Lannister, hereby, in the name of the Hand of the King and Tommen Baratheon the First, I solemnly declare you innocent and order your immediate release!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Tyrion jumped up excitedly like a child, raising his hands, still wearing heavy shackles, and shouting at the guards beside him, "Didn't you hear? You bunch of utterly stupid fools! Hurry up and unlock these shackles for me!"
The guards looked at each other, hesitated slightly, and then turned their gaze to Tywin. Seeing that Tywin did not object, they stepped forward and quickly opened Tyrion's handcuffs.
Regaining his freedom, Tyrion moved his sore wrists while smiling happily at Liu Yuan, "Thank you, my dear friend. If it weren't for your help, I fear I would not have escaped death today."
Liu Yuan nodded slightly in response, "You're welcome, we are friends. But you must be more careful in the future, your sister will never let this go so easily."
Tyrion's mouth curved slightly upward, revealing a helpless smile, and he said softly, "Well, perhaps this is fate. We may not meet again in the future. And my father, I suppose, will no longer allow me to stay in King's Landing..." After speaking, he turned his gaze to Tywin on the high platform, his eyes revealing an unspeakable complex emotion.
Sure enough, Tywin did not disappoint him. Tywin announced loudly in front of everyone, "Tyrion Lannister, given that you bear undeniable responsibility in the assassination of the king, and your repeated actions have disgraced the family, you are a disgrace to the family! As the head of the Lannister family, I hereby declare that you are expelled from the family... Considering past affection, you are still allowed to keep the surname, but in this life, you must not step into King's Landing or Casterly Rock!"
Hearing this, Tyrion silently lowered his head and fell into silence. Liu Yuan, seeing this, did not say anything, because he knew what Tyrion was thinking at this moment. Over the years, Tyrion had desperately studied and constantly enriched his mind, hoping to gain his father's approval. But today, he was expelled from the family by his own father, and all his past efforts seemed to have instantly lost all value.
His loyal servant, Podrick, carefully led the distraught, seemingly soulless Tyrion out of the crowded, noisy arena. Just then, Duke Tywin came over, staring at Liu Yuan expressionlessly and said, "Marquis Garon, you did well, I will remember this."
Liu Yuan nodded slightly in response, and then said softly, "Thank you for the Prime Minister's praise. If there are no other important matters, I will take my leave first."
Tywin seemed dissatisfied with Liu Yuan's answer, but still asked, "Regarding the suggestion I made to you before, are you really not going to reconsider it? You should know that entering the Small Council is an opportunity that countless people dream of!"
Faced with Tywin's question, Liu Yuan still maintained a smile and replied firmly, "Thank you for the Prime Minister's kindness, but the life of the Small Council is not suitable for me, and I have my own business."
Meanwhile, Tyrion, supported by Podrick, was moving forward with difficulty, each step seeming incredibly heavy. Suddenly, Tyrion stopped, took a deep breath, and said sadly, "From now on, I have been spurned by the family and am no longer worthy to be called 'Lord'…"
Liu Yuan: "If you don't have a good place to go, why not come with me to Essos! A friend has invited me many times, leaving Westeros to see a wider world, isn't that what you always dreamed of?"
A glimmer of light flashed in Tyrion's eyes, but then dimmed again, "I'm afraid I'll be a burden to you in this state."
"Don't say that, you're the smartest person, you'll definitely be able to make a career in Essos," Liu Yuan encouraged.
Tyrion bit his lip, as if making a decision: "Podrick, are you willing to come with me?"
Podrick said firmly: "Lord Tyrion, I am willing to follow you forever. I will go with you!"
Liu Yuan laughed loudly: "Hahaha, it's settled then. Let's go, I don't want to stay in this smelly city of King's Landing any longer."
In the distance, dust billowed, and the cavalry originally waiting at the Iron Gate had already arrived to meet them.
