Chapter 160 The Room of Requirement
Chapter 160 The Room of Requirement
The day after returning from the Hog's Head Inn, Aris led everyone to hold a defense team meeting in the DA cabin.
No new magic was taught to everyone, but instead they familiarized themselves with the magic they had learned before. However, everyone had a lot of fun because they were not even allowed to take out their wands in Umbridge's class.
Aeris used the Fidelius Charm for the DA Cottage, making himself the secret keeper here to prevent people who had been to the DA Cottage before from accidentally revealing the secrets here to Umbridge.
Because of the defense team meeting, Harry seemed less manic during Umbridge's Defense Against the Dark Arts class.
"There's a saying: A cunning rabbit has three burrows," Aeris said when the companions were discussing the second defense team meeting. "We can't just gather in one place, or it will arouse suspicion."
"Then go to the Room of Requirement!" Hermione suggested.
"What?" Ron asked in confusion.
"It's called the coming and going room," Hermione explained, "It will only appear in front of someone when they really need it..."
"If I'm in a hurry to go to the toilet, there will be all kinds of chamber pots in there..." Harry said thoughtfully.
Hermione looked at Harry with an indescribable look, but nodded.
"But... where is this... Room of Requirement?" Ron inquired.
"It's recorded in 'A History of Hogwarts'," Hermione said, "The Room of Requirement is very mysterious, but it's on the eighth floor, opposite the tapestry where the troll beats up Barnabas, and it will always respond to your expectations."
Everyone went to the eighth floor, and the friends faced the wall, feeling ridiculous.
"Who wants to try it?" Aeris asked.
Harry, Hermione, and Ron all took a step back, their movements remarkably coordinated.
Aeris shook his head and began to recite in his mind: "I need a big house to practice magic... I need a big house to practice magic... I need a big house to practice magic..."
After thinking about it three times, the wall still didn't change. Aeris turned around and looked at Hermione in confusion.
"You might need to start walking, dear!" said Hermione, stifling a laugh.
Aeris glared at Hermione and began pacing in front of the wall again, repeating to himself three more times, "I need a big room to practice magic."
An ancient stone door was slowly outlined on the wall. Eris pushed open the stone door and walked in, followed by his companions.
The magic flame lit up. The space here was very large, and all the necessary items were available: various magic books, even rare copies that could not be found in the school library; various cushions were placed on the ground; and dummies made of various materials were placed in every corner...
"It seems that this place is also very suitable for practicing magic," Aeris said, "This will be our second base in the future."
Hermione was very happy. She immediately picked up a magic book, sat on a cushion and started reading.
Aris shook his head and sent a message to his classmates using the pager.
It wasn't long before several people came here, and everyone was surprised that there was such a place in their school.
After all the students on the list arrived, Aes closed the stone door tightly, and it immediately turned into a wall.
"This will be our second secret base from now on," Aeris said. "Unfortunately, we cannot cast the Fidelius Charm here, so we still have to be careful when we gather here."
"All right! Aeris!" said Zacharias Smith of Hufflepuff, "Teach us some new magic. Don't let it be like last time. We are not risking our lives here just to practice the magic we already know."
"It seems that everyone can't wait, especially Mr. Smith!" said Aris, "So I want to teach you something exciting, such as: black magic..."
Everyone gasped, and Hermione looked at Aris in disbelief.
At the first gathering, everyone chose the "coaches": Aris and Harry.
Now a "coach" is openly teaching black magic, which makes everyone a little...unbelievable.
But there are some people who are eager to try, such as Draco and the Slytherin brothers and sisters he brought with him, and Fred and George...
"There's no need to be so surprised," said Aeris. "Magic is neither good nor bad, only wizards have it. However, in order to prevent the negative emotions of black magic from affecting the mind, those who want to learn black magic from me must first learn the Patronus Charm...Expecto Patronus..."
Aeris waved his magic wand and all kinds of silver animals appeared, ranging from hummingbirds to humpback whales, roughly over a hundred species.
"This...this...this..." Zacharias slumped on a cushion, too surprised to speak.
The rest of the people were also very surprised, and looked at Edwards as if he were a magical creature, except for Harry, Hermione and a few others, who were all numb.
"Those who don't know the Patronus please step out," said Aris. "Harry, you will teach them the Patronus."
Harry glanced at Aris resentfully, as if to say, "Coach... I also want to learn the Dark Arts..."
"Okay! Harry!" Aris patted Harry's shoulder and whispered, "Why don't you teach them how to cast the Patronus Charm first, and then sneak back to learn it!"
Harry took a dozen classmates who didn't know how to cast the Patronus Charm to the other side to practice.
Aeris said: "Let's talk about black magic later. Today we will learn... the Fire God spell... Fire God opens the way..."
As Aerys waved his wand, a huge flaming raven flew out. "Destroy everything you want to destroy, and protect everything you want to protect," Aerys said. "This is the Fire God Spell... After you master this magic, I will teach you the Fire Shield Spell, which is the real... black magic..."
The party lasted until nearly nine o'clock in the evening, and everyone had to quickly sneak back to their respective common rooms. If it was too late, they would be caught by Mr. Filch on patrol and it would be very troublesome.
