Just after Ming Kai and Qiu Zi left, Mrs. Ming, Ming Kai’s mother, stomped over to the nurses’ station in her high heels, "Xiao Hong, where is Ming Kai?"
Xiao Hong, the head nurse on duty today, immediately put on a smile when she saw Mrs. Ming, "You’re here! Director Ming just left with Dr. Qiu."
"Dr. Qiu?" Mrs. Ming thought for a moment and recalled a sweet-looking young girl, "Is it that new young female doctor?"

With a grim face, Mrs. Ming took out her phone and called Ming Kai directly. After two rings, the call was answered, "Son, where are you now?"
"Oh, Mom! I’m taking a colleague to the hospital." Ming Kai replied while keeping an eye on the vehicles ahead.
"Which colleague? A male or female colleague?" Hearing his mother’s question, Ming Kai couldn’t help but frown. He was using the car’s speakerphone, meaning Qiu Zi could hear everything. He glanced at Qiu Zi, and sure enough, she looked somewhat uncomfortable.
"Alright, Mom, I’m driving, I’ll hang up now!" said Ming Kai as he ended the call.
Seeing that her son actually dared to hang up on her, Mrs. Ming was furious and called back again, holding back her anger.
Ming Kai looked at the caller ID and intended to reject it, but he hesitated since it was his mother. He pulled over to the side of the road, picked up his phone, and answered, "Mom, what do you want?"
"I just asked if it was a male or female colleague. Is there something you can’t say? Or is there some secret between you?"
Ming Kai thought his mother’s questions were becoming increasingly absurd and was relieved not to be on speakerphone; otherwise, Qiu Zi would hear everything.
He sighed, "Mom, what do you want from me?"
Seeing her son not say anything, Mrs. Ming was still angry but had no choice and said, "It’s about your father’s plan to expand the hospital. We arranged lunch tomorrow, followed by an inspection in the afternoon. I spent the whole day running around for this, and I happened to finish and passed by the hospital to find you, but you left! And I heard it was with a female doctor!"
There was a hint of jealousy in Mrs. Ming’s words about Qiu Zi.
Ming Kai felt a bit helpless, noticing the urgency on Qiu Zi’s face and casually said, "I’m heading home soon. We’ll talk about the investors when I get home. I’m hanging up now!"
This time, Ming Kai turned off his phone and restarted the car before Qiu Zi could open her mouth to get out.
"Am I troubling you? I can actually get off here. It’s not far from the subway station," Qiu Zi said.
"No, it’s not a bother. My mom just called to tell me there’s an investor coming to inspect the hospital tomorrow afternoon."
"Oh, I see," Qiu Zi nodded and fell silent.
"I have to have lunch with the investor tomorrow. You should join us," Ming Kai directly invited Qiu Zi.
