Chapter 463 - 425: Rebooting the Training Ring
Chapter 463 - 425: Rebooting the Training Ring
"How can I trust you?" Donovan Lockwood suddenly asked after a long silence.
Aurora Sinclair stood up straight. "The fact that I’m standing here is the best proof."
Only then did Donovan Lockwood remember that she was also a Super Soldier.
"Fine..."
A gentle sea breeze brought a touch of coolness to the isolated island.
Aurora Sinclair stood by her office window, her gaze heavy as she looked out at the sea.
According to Donovan Lockwood, more than half of the other Super Soldiers had died in the short span of forty years. Before he was imprisoned, he was only in contact with three of them.
One was living in seclusion on the Continent of Esteros, possibly within one of The Secluded Sects. The other two were in The Shadow Organization: one was Toad, a member of The Five Venoms, and the other was their Shadow Master, Jason Lennox.

"Lord Sinclair, we received a call from The Martial Affairs Bureau. They said they’ll be delivering a prisoner this afternoon," a Basic Supervisor reported respectfully.
Aurora Sinclair stared at the computer in front of her without looking up. "Has his file been sent over?"
"It has."
"Send it to me."
The Basic Supervisor paused for a moment before immediately agreeing, though he was quite surprised.
Most Intermediate Supervisors, even with their positions, wouldn’t be this hands-on.
They only intervened when a criminal at the Great Martial King Realm arrived at the penitentiary. The rest of the time, they were focused on their Martial Cultivation so they could get to The Holy Mountain as soon as possible.
That was why for matters like this, he usually only needed to report it and would then be given full authority to handle it himself.
Soon, a case file appeared on the computer in Aurora Sinclair’s office.
The criminal was someone who had just become a Martial Artist. He had been sent here for rehabilitation after accidentally killing another Martial Artist in a case of excessive self-defense.
What was surprising was that at the time of the killing, the criminal had only just broken through to become a Martial Artist, and the moves he used were from the Body Refining Boxing Technique.
Aurora Sinclair’s lips thinned into a line.
「2:00 PM」
The transport ship arrived at the island where The International Penitentiary was located.
Two men in the black uniforms of The Martial Affairs Bureau disembarked onto the island, escorting a simple-looking, middle-aged man.
Trailing behind them was a blond, blue-eyed man.
"Lord Hogg, The International Penitentiary is just ahead. We just need to hand over the prisoner and then we can head back."
One of the agents in front said solicitously, turning his head.
A prisoner of this level didn’t require a Supervisor to be present for the transfer. However, since Lord Hogg was new, their superiors had assigned him to this escort to familiarize him with the route.
Hogg smiled and gave a slight nod.
From a distance, The International Penitentiary ahead looked like a giant fortress. Its walls soared into the clouds, gleaming with a metallic luster.
The gate was so seamlessly integrated with the wall that, without a close look, it was impossible to tell where the wall ended and the gate began.
A yellow warning line was painted on the ground in front of the wall.
As they approached the warning line, a mechanical voice suddenly rang out: "Please present your visitor identification."
One of the agents took out his boat ticket and held it up to the scanning red light.
"DING—"
"Identification verified."
With the ding, the red warning light above the metal gate turned green.
The metal gate then slowly opened, revealing a long, enclosed corridor.
The corridor lights were as bright as day, and the walls on both sides were made of cold metal.
The metal walls were covered in countless tiny holes, and numerous cameras were mounted on the ceiling.
An agent pointed to the holes in the wall and warned the prisoner in a low voice, "See these holes? They’re filled with lasers. Once activated, not even a Martial King could hope to escape. You’d better behave yourself and focus on your rehabilitation here..."
The prisoner mumbled a few words of assent.
Hogg, who was following behind, gave the corridor a curious look.
At the end of the metal corridor was another heavy metal gate.
A green light was already on, and the gate was slowly opening.
A line of prison guards was waiting for them inside the gate.
The two parties exchanged transfer documents. After the prison guards verified the paperwork, they led the criminal away.
Just then, Hogg suddenly said, "I’m here to see Lord Sinclair."
***
The office was spacious and bright.
Aurora Sinclair was reviewing the case files of all the prisoners in the penitentiary.
Then, she heard the patter of footsteps approaching from a distance.
A knock sounded at the door.
"Lord Sinclair, Lord Hogg from The Martial Affairs Bureau is here to see you."
"Let him in."
Aurora Sinclair looked up to see the blond, blue-eyed man walk in, holding a small wooden box.
She had seen this man at the Guardian conference; his strength was considerable.
He placed the wooden box on her desk with both hands and gave her a respectful bow.
"Lord Sinclair, this is a gift from Lord Sloan."
Puzzled, Aurora Sinclair opened the box.
Inside lay a brilliant green emerald.
Aurora Sinclair could faintly sense the Power of Heaven and Earth contained within it.
And because of this green emerald, the ring on her finger seemed to vibrate slightly.
Immediately after, the mysterious voice she had first heard on The Holy Mountain echoed in her ear: "Level One Energy Stone detected. Absorb?"
Aurora Sinclair paused, then quickly shut the wooden box.
But the voice in her ear persisted: "Absorb energy to reactivate the Ring of Divine Son’s Training?"
Hogg, who was standing opposite her, seemed to notice something was wrong. He took a step forward and asked with concern, "Lord Sinclair, what’s the matter?"
Aurora Sinclair glanced at him and said in a low voice, "You may leave for now—"
Hogg was taken aback for a moment, then immediately headed for the door.
As the door closed, Aurora Sinclair sat, holding her breath. ’Who are you? Why are you in my mind?’ she thought.
But the voice didn’t answer her. Instead, it mechanically repeated the question.
Aurora Sinclair pursed her lips and looked at her right hand. The ring was now emitting a green glow that corresponded with the green emerald in the wooden box.
After a moment of thought, she replied directly in her mind, ’Absorb energy.’
The wooden box immediately sprang open. The green emerald inside seemed to come alive, levitating in the air. Like the various energies collected in the Glory War Alternate Dimension, it slowly seeped into the ring.
After an unknown amount of time, the mysterious voice sounded in her ear again: "Reactivation of the Ring of Divine Son’s Training successful. Entry permitted upon reaching the Quasi-god realm."
「Meanwhile.」
Far away on The Holy Mountain, Jasper Winslow’s eyes snapped open. He gazed out at his surroundings with joyful surprise.
The Ancestor had told him to cultivate at the summit of The Holy Mountain.

Aurora Sinclair held out her hand and studied the ring for a long time. It had returned to its previous appearance—plain and ordinary, with a simple metallic sheen.
Aside from having absorbed the green emerald, there was nothing unusual about it.
’Hello? Are you still there?’
Aurora Sinclair called out in her mind, but the ring gave no response.
She felt a little frustrated, truly not understanding what this ring was for.
***
Hogg, who had been waiting outside, saw the door open and immediately asked with concern, "Lord Sinclair, are you alright?"
Aurora Sinclair’s gaze turned sharp in an instant. Realizing he had misspoken, Hogg immediately lowered his head.
"Thank Lord Sloan for me," Aurora Sinclair said coolly, giving him a sideways glance.
Hogg immediately bowed again. He took a letter from his coat, presenting it with both hands. "Lord Sinclair, this is a letter for you from Lord Sloan."
Aurora Sinclair glanced at it and reached out to take it.
Hogg continued, "Lord Sloan wishes to reinvestigate Major Case 413. To that end, he would like to ask you, Lord Sinclair, to take me to Zone A to see a criminal named Ilinger..."
Before he could finish, the Basic Supervisor, who had also been waiting outside, abruptly cut him off.
"Lord Sinclair, that person is extremely dangerous! We can’t simply allow someone to visit him..."
