Chapter 4 Guardian Dungeon, I'll Do the Grinding.
Chapter 4 Guardian Dungeon, I'll Do the Grinding.
Zhou Nan recalled for a moment.
The small fishing village of Casanar faces south, with a main road running about a mile long in the east, south, and west directions. At the end of the road is the portal where the murlocs launch their attack.
Murlocs spawn through portals, appearing simultaneously from three lanes, in waves every ten minutes, for a total of nine waves. The first wave spawns one hundred Murlocs from each of the three spawn points, with each subsequent wave adding one hundred more. Waves 3, 6, and 9 are boss stages, where a Murloc boss will spawn in addition to the Murlocs.
The third wave usually spawns [Murloc Warrior • Carp Jason], which players like to call "Big Carp".
The sixth wave will spawn [Murloc Fighter • Catfish Sika], which players like to call "Second Catfish"!
The ninth wave will spawn the big boss, namely [Murloc Leader Sharlion], also known as "Old Shark".
On N1 difficulty, the Murloc has 30 health and 1-2 attack power!
The giant carp has 300 HP and 10-20 attack power!
The two catfish have 600 health points and an attack power of 10-20.
Old Shark is amazing, with 3000 health points and a fixed attack power of 100!
With each increase in dungeon difficulty, the attributes of these monsters double. For example, at N2 difficulty, the little murloc's health increases to 60, and at N5 difficulty it reaches 480, while the old shark's health can reach 48000!
Whether a defense can be successfully defended depends on defeating the BOSS.
There are six NPCs in the village. The village chief Blair stands alone in the village square with only 100 health points. Two archers, Martin and Marco, are guarding the monster spawn point in the south of the village.
The remaining three NPCs are hiding in a thatched hut in the village.
One of them is the lame captain of the guard, Kakar, who can issue "fortification" missions.
This task is known as the "brick-moving task" by players. Players need to find bricks around the village and then move them to the east and west entrances of the village. At the N1 difficulty level, players need to move 100 bricks to each of the two village entrances. The difficulty level increases by one level, and the number of bricks to move doubles.
Once the mission is complete, Kakar will leave the thatched hut and quickly establish defensive fortifications in the east and west of the village.
The fortification was actually just a stone wall. Once it was built, the three streams of murloc invaders would gather at the south entrance of the village, so you only needed to concentrate your defense at the south entrance and not have to deal with all three streams at the same time, which would greatly reduce the defensive pressure.
The fourth NPC is named Krul, a carpenter who hides in a thatched hut in the northwest corner of the village. He can issue logging quests, and you can get a logging axe from him. After getting the axe, go north of the village, find any big tree, and chop it down in a hundred strokes.
After felling it, you can harvest fifty pieces of wood. Once you have accumulated two hundred pieces of wood, Krul will come out of the house and repair the two defensive watchtowers in the south of the village.
If the two archers south of the village are still alive at this time, you can talk to them to trigger a dialogue. Then the two village guards will return to the village, climb the watchtower, and defend it. Their range can be increased to 100 meters, and their attack power is about 30 points, which can basically kill a small murloc with one arrow.
However, this task must be completed as soon as possible to be meaningful. It is best to complete it before the fourth wave of murloc invasion, otherwise you will have to take care of the two village guards. If they are killed by the murlocs, the watchtower will be useless.
The last NPC is the pharmacist Kokkoro, who is hidden in the thatched hut behind the village chief. She can issue gathering quests, which require you to gather three green mushrooms, six magic herbs, and four hemostatic herbs in the woods north of the village.
After completing the quest, Kokkoro can brew a healing potion. Give the potion to Village Chief Blair, and he will glow and cast a healing spell every minute that covers the entire village, restoring 10% of the health of all players and summoned beasts.
For newcomers, completing these tasks will make clearing the game much easier, and even with bad cards, clearing N1 shouldn't be too difficult.
Of course, N1 difficulty is easy to pass. Even if you don't complete these tasks, you can still get through it if you have good cards.
Actually, there are six wild monsters in the woods north of the village that can keep respawning. After killing them, there is a chance to get materials or special items. Giving certain special items to different NPCs in the village can get different rewards, and even unlock hidden achievements.
However, most newbies are busy defending against the little fishmen and don't have the time to farm monsters and collect loot.
"Fine, I'll do the bricklaying. Consider it training the newbie."
Zhou Nan slapped the two-star black card in front of him, and immediately twenty points of mana were consumed. With a bang, the card turned into a giant panda the size of a rhinoceros.
The giant panda sat on the ground, chubby and with small, black eyes. Its arms were thicker than Zhou Nan's waist. It scratched its belly with its paws, looking both cute and majestic.
"General Panda, you stay here and hold the fort. I'm going to lay bricks. If any of the little fishmen invade, smash them!"
Zhou Nan said something.
Panda Panda decided to fight on its own. It roared, pounced on the ground with its two front paws, and then began patrolling the village entrance, shaking its head and wiggling its rear end.
This panda has 15,000 health points, and crucially, it also has some armor and 5.7% physical damage reduction, making it incredibly tanky.
The little fishmen in N1 difficulty only have 30 health points and 1-2 attack points. If they attack Panda Panda, unless they deal the maximum damage, which is 2 points, the damage will be less than 1 point. The system defaults to not breaking through the defense, so Panda Panda will not lose health.
Zhou Nan didn't even need to look to know that Panda Panda was incredibly resilient. Once it triggered a [Crushing Attack], it would be devastating, and all the small fish around it would be forced to kneel.
Moreover, the person who said "I'll choose Li Bai" is right about one thing: on N1 difficulty, village guards Martin and Marco can completely withstand three waves of murloc attacks without any problems. As long as the small murlocs on the east and west sides don't get through, there won't be much of a problem. Now that Panda is guarding the village, it's even more foolproof.
Zhou Nan rolled up his sleeves, found the hidden NPC Captain Kakar, activated the quest, and then went to work as a laborer.
He had been very familiar with this process for two months, but the task couldn't be rushed. Players could only move one brick at a time. If Zhou Nan did the brick-moving task alone, he would have to move 200 bricks and make 200 round trips!
Zhou Nan had experience moving bricks, and he figured that even if he ran around like crazy the whole time, and all the bricks were spawned at the village entrance, it would still take him more than 20 minutes to move 200 bricks, by which time the Murlocs would have already reached the third wave.
But what can be done at this point?
Call those three "big shots" back to work together? They've all disappeared, and it might take even more time.
Zhou Nan had already realized that he needed to build a single pass. To achieve this, he had to build strong defensive fortifications. With strong fortifications, the Panda Pass would be impregnable, which was far more important than two watchtowers.
"Those three heroes mustn't be able to withstand even the first three waves!"
Zhou Nan muttered to himself that this was what he was most afraid of right now.
Zhou Nan could actually send Panda Panda to guard the monster spawn point south of the village, but he was worried that his ally might be unreliable. If a few stray monsters managed to sneak into his base, he would be really frustrated.
In short, it's safer to let Panda Panda stay in the village and keep things under control.
Soon, a regional announcement rang out: "The power of the deep sea is spreading, the murloc teleportation array is activated, the first wave of murloc attack has begun, and an information panel has been generated..."
At this time, Zhou Nan had already moved 21 bricks in the east of the village.
He looked up at the sky and saw a huge display screen directly to the south.
