Chapter 26: Defeating the 6th Wave of Wild Monsters
Chapter 26: Defeating the 6th Wave of Wild Monsters
"Ding! Congratulations on obtaining the Slime War Guardian. The defense index of the Secret Camp has increased by 5 points (based on the Slime King's level), for a total of 45."
Looking at the fully revived Slime King, Lei Chi immediately understood that the "Slime War Guardian" was referring to it.
At this point, the Slime King has generated a brand new attribute panel.

Note 1: War Guardians are the protective force of the secret camp. They will spontaneously attack players who invade the secret camp. When wild monsters invade, they can also attack the invading wild monsters that enter the camp square. However, War Guardians cannot leave the secret camp.
Note 2: War Guardians are managed by the system AI and fight independently, not controlled by the player. They can gain experience points after defeating enemy targets. The Slime King has no level cap and can level up infinitely.

"Good heavens, it turns out to be an uncontrollable, super-sized soldier. Judging by its appearance, it probably isn't very smart..."
Lei Chi thought to himself that having another slime war guard was a good thing. Regardless of whether he was smart or not, at least it increased the defense index of the secret camp.
The Slime King, now a war guard, immediately began patrolling the War Corridor, strolling leisurely with quite an air of importance.
Five minutes later, Lei Chi moved the Lightning Lizard back to the "30 meters" position in the War Corridor. After a moment's thought, he spent another 10 gold coins to unlock the Wildness LV1 technology in the City Defense Center.
In this way, all Beast Towers have a 10% double critical hit chance.
The benefits of this technology can be quite substantial.
"With the Slime King, a boss-level minion, and the Wild Tech, we should be able to break through the 6th wave of monster invasion!"
Lei Chi then led the fighting chicken to the camp square, and without hesitation, initiated the 6th wave of wild monster invasion.
After waiting for three minutes, the light mist surged in the [Time-Space Wormhole], invading wild monsters, and the LV6 little skeleton appeared.
This little skeleton is just a thin, white human skeleton, only 1.2 meters tall, carrying a small machete, looking as if it could be blown apart by a strong wind. The first two spawned, standing side by side in the middle of the [War Corridor].
With a roar, the number one [Big Tiger] unleashed its roar, and the [Little Green Snake], [Porcupine], [Lightning Lizard], [Bubble Turtle], and [Water Cannon Turtle] immediately launched an attack, hurling poison, lightning strikes, water bubbles, and water cannonballs at once, instantly reducing the two slimes' health bars to almost nothing.
However, the ranged beast towers didn't focus their fire effectively, and their attacks were scattered, failing to kill even one small skeleton instantly.
These minor details don't need to be taken seriously, since the damage was definitely dealt.
Two seconds later, both of the first little skeletons in the row were killed, fell apart with a snap, and quickly turned into white light and disappeared.
In the [Time-Space Wormhole], two small skeletons spawn every second, with a total of 100 health points. Theoretically, if the damage from the ranged Beast Tower in Thunder Pool can be maximized, the [Little Green Snake] can reach 12 DPS, the [Porcupine] 4 DPS, the [Lightning Lizard] 2 DPS, the [Bubble Turtle] 6 DPS, and the [Water Cannon Turtle] 58.5 DPS, with a theoretical maximum DPS of 86.5.
If we also take into account the 10% double critical hit chance provided by [Wildness LV1], the damage output won't be much different.
In other words, the rate at which the skeletons spawn is almost equal to the rate at which they are destroyed.
If the number of small skeletons were unlimited, they could definitely invade the camp square, but with only 2000, they would all be wiped out within 1000 seconds.
Within those 1000 seconds, Lei Chi's ranged beast towers could kill at least 1700 to 1800 small skeletons, if not 1900. So how many of the remaining 200 to 300 small skeletons could escape the attack range of the Water Cannon Turtle?
After that, the little skeletons stopped spawning, and the rest could only take hits. How many of them could survive?
Even if some small skeletons are missed, there's still the Slime King and five LV2 fighting chickens in the camp square. The Slime King is quite fierce; he can launch a small fireball every second, enough to wipe out the small skeletons.
The actual situation went even more smoothly than Lei Chi had anticipated. After the sixth wave of monster invasion began, the little skeletons lost health rapidly. In particular, when the Water Cannon Turtle's water cannonballs bounced off, the little skeletons' health bars could be clearly seen dropping in segments. Usually, one water cannonball would kill two little skeletons. If the water cannonballs critically hit, it would be even more ferocious.
Under such firepower, the little skeletons kept coming forward one after another. It took a full 12 minutes before the first little skeleton with low health walked out of the range of the Water Cannon Turtle. 50 seconds later, it walked into the camp square and was immediately killed by the Slime King with a small fireball.
Further on, a few remaining low-health skeletons slipped through, but the Slime King wiped them all out in an instant, making it very easy for him to gain experience.
In the end, the monster invasion lasted less than 20 minutes. Only 86 small skeletons escaped to the camp square, and they were all harvested by the Slime King. Lei Chi and the Fighting Chicken didn't even have a chance to fight.
However, it seems that leveling up the Slime King is not easy. Despite reaping so many little skeletons, he still hasn't been able to level up.
"Ding! Congratulations on defeating the 6th wave of monster invasion! Rewards have been calculated, your level has increased to LV3, and your level cap has been increased to LV6!"
"Ding! Your camp's gold mine has been upgraded to LV3, with one more gold mining location and doubled gold mining efficiency (you can collect 4 copper coins for each mining action)."
"Ding! You can start the 7th wave of monster invasion at any time. The 7th wave of invading monsters are LV7 Greatsword Skeleton Soldiers with 70 HP, a movement speed of 1 meter per second, and a spawn rate of 2 per second, for a total of 2000."
