Chapter 14 What is a drowning fear potion?
The octopus monster couldn't withstand the attack and collapsed instantly.
"My kin, why do you try to stop God's coming...?"
As it lay dying, it stared at the guard with the sword, its eyes filled with incomprehension.
"What kind of family?" The sword-wielding guard scratched his head, puzzled. "I didn't receive any faction quests."
Clang.
The octopus monster's staff clattered to the ground, and the entire monster transformed into a large puddle of thick, black slime, reluctantly glowing.
"Has some information been leaked?"
Fang Qi watched from the shadows, his expression shifting.
"I am a mysterious merchant, I cannot reveal myself..." he muttered to himself, suppressing the urge to step forward.
Above the ink, a notification from the trading terminal flashes:
[Unsettled Fear: C-Rank Consumable.]
"Grade C, huh? And it's a consumable item anyway. Forget it, it's worthless. You guys can get it for free!"
However, things didn't go as planned.
The players seemed oblivious, completely ignoring the treasure on the ground.
"This dungeon is really detailed; even when the boss dies, it leaves ink!" the guard exclaimed, before stepping on it with a "plop."
The remaining three men looked slightly disgusted, but after observing for a moment and realizing they couldn't get around it, they stopped arguing.
Pfft pfft.
The player team waded through the slime and headed straight for the back of the altar.
The player's system didn't give any notifications about item drops!
An unexpected joy, something lost has been found again!
Fang Qi watched eagerly as the four people turned the corner, then quickly rushed over.
Order now!
Upon closer inspection, it became clear that the valuable part wasn't the slime, but rather the lump of black jelly in the center.
That's much more comfortable now; at least I don't have to suck it all into my mouth.
He quickly brushed aside the clutter around him, blocked out his sense of taste and smell, and then took a deep breath.
The texture really is like jelly, why don't you try it?
Fang Qi tentatively removed the shield.
"Ptooey, ptooey, ptooey! What a rotten octopus flavor!"
He almost spat out the food he was about to eat.
"What's that weird smell?"
Loxi was fiddling with her own bottle of mental resistance potion in the corner of the room when she suddenly twitched her nose.
Turning my head, I saw a dark, unidentified substance falling from the sky and landing on the ground with a "thud".
The stench of rotten fish and shrimp even manifested as visible black smoke, emanating in waves.
"Uh... Mr. Box, this..." She pinched her nose, hesitating to speak:
"Should we take care of this?"
"Can you handle this?" Fang Qi was also a little worried.
There will definitely be more of these toxic and harmful substances in the future. Although Rosie said that his stomach space is very stable and the materials he takes in will not change much.
But it's really not good to pile everything together, good or bad, fragrant or foul.
We really need to figure out a way to separate the accommodation area, storage area, and toxic/hazardous areas in a while.
Fang Qi looked at his index of 1006 points on his panel and pondered that when he went back to upgrade later, he would try to control the direction of the expansion of his stomach space.
It doesn't need to be any taller, and there aren't any large components; the main thing is to increase the building area.
Then find two more partitions to make do.
"It's guaranteed! Once it's made into a finished or semi-finished product, it definitely won't have any taste!" Loxi rubbed her hands together, looking excited.
"Where did Mr. Box find so many rare contraband items? This seems to be some kind of concept..."
"The stones were produced by the octopus monster." Fang Qi replied casually, "You handle it, I have other things to do."
He didn't waste any time; multitasking, he had already followed the four players and reached the door of the small room.
The players have already collected their loot.
The samurai was studying the summoning notes when Fang Qi saw this and quickly pricked up his ears.
He had previously examined the book by blowing on it; apart from the words on the cover, all the pages inside were white, like a blank book.
But it's understandable.
"Quest items" will definitely be used in conjunction with the quest system, and will most likely be displayed directly on the quest panel.
He doesn't have that function, so naturally he can't see it.
"The three altars... are now in use..." the warrior read aloud from the white paper. "At the changing of the tides, my god will surely return..."
"There are also some random material names, and the descriptions are all rather vague." He handed the notebook to the guard with the sword: "See if there's anything else?"
"The pattern looks rather familiar," the guard with the sword glanced at it casually. "And there are words on it too: 'After twenty tides, deep-sea creatures, please gather east of Talosha Reef.'"
He turned to the next page and continued reading, "Gurgle gurgle..."
"what?"
"It's just gurgling..." A string of inhuman language floated from the mouth of the guard with the sword.
He was about to continue reading when he suddenly snapped out of his daze, as if he had suddenly woken up: "Where did it go? Huh? This pattern is so ugly! What kind of aesthetic sense does this octopus have?!"
"Looks like the medicine has worked, he's back to normal." The nanny whispered to the archer beside her.
"Did you receive the mission to hand this booklet over to the quartermaster?" The guard with the sword saw that the booklet was a mission item and didn't bother to examine it, simply stuffing it back into his backpack.
Everyone nodded in agreement.
It's better for the boss to be normal. He was too crazy just now. They thought he had been replaced by something like a painted skin...
"Let's go, let's turn in the mission," the sword-wielding guard waved his hand, displaying his professional command style: "Warrior, go post a message and upload our first kill video."
"Keep the potion. Use it whenever you want," he added, not intending to ask for it back.
This stuff has serious side effects; after drinking it, the game screen displays erratically, which greatly interferes with gameplay.
Recalling the way his brothers looked at him as a fool, he grinned imperceptibly.
Thank goodness they were our own people, otherwise we would have lost face...
I absolutely refuse to drink a second bottle!
Ignoring the historical anchor point prompts in the trading terminal, Fang Qi peeked out from above.
The players have all disappeared; it seems they've simply withdrawn their winnings.
He sped down and disappeared into the room.
Looking around, a glittering light appeared in a conspicuous spot on the ground; it was a magic crystal that had been deliberately left behind.
"I've already placed it here but haven't seen it yet. It must not be showing up in the system, so I can't pick it up... Well, I'll just accept it then!"
"It seems that players can only see the dungeon chests and quest items provided by the system, and cannot move anything from the scene."
Fang Qi absorbed the magic crystal and changed direction.
I'm off to go back and upgrade.
"Is Mr. Box here? I'm done!" A tickling sensation came from my stomach; it was Rosie knocking on the wall.
Fang Qi looked over and saw four bottles of medicine on the ground.
[Drowning Potion, Class C Consumable, for throwing use. Targets within the blast radius will experience an extremely realistic "deep-sea drowning" hallucination.]
Below, Rose left a small note: "Don't worry, the water is fake; no one will drown."
[Fear Ink, a C-grade consumable. Throwing it releases a dense black mist that inhales, causing the user to fall into a state of "fear."]
Rosie commented: "I took a bite, and it tasted a bit bitter, which reminded me of the day I blew up my mentor's tower... Waaah, I don't want to live anymore!"
no……
This fear-inducing potion doesn't seem quite right, does it?
