Chapter 3 Her Child Went Astray Again
Chapter 3 Her Child Went Astray Again
Jiang Liwu took a shower, changed her clothes, and went to the restaurant for breakfast with the help of a maid.
Upon arrival, the atmosphere in the restaurant was tense, with the servants around them barely daring to breathe.
"Come here." Wei Xifeng sat in the main seat, issuing commands like a monarch.
Qiao Yiran sat far away, as if there was a river separating them. She gripped the spoon tightly in her hand, and although she was intimidated by Wei Xifeng's imposing manner, she still insisted on not moving. "I'll just eat here."
Wei Xifeng's face was icy, and his eyes grew even more intense. "Don't make me say it again, what right do you have to refuse me?"
Those few words instantly brought tears to Qiao Yiran's eyes, making her feel deeply humiliated.
She really had no right to refuse, no right to say no.
She was nothing more than a bankrupt heiress. Her father was in jail, her mother was seriously ill, and she herself had long since lost her pride. She could no longer be the proudest red rose; she was just a pet cat, dog, and sparrow kept by Wei Xifeng.
Slowly getting up, Qiao Yiran's tears were about to fall, feeling wronged and resentful. "You're the one who told me to get lost, and you're also the one who made me come here."
Wei Xifeng slammed the cutlery down. "Are you talking back to me? You'd better know your place."
Qiao Yiran couldn't hold back any longer. She swayed, like a fragile little white flower swaying in the cold wind.
Jiang Liwu was somewhat surprised to see this scene. This scene immediately reminded her of the twisted relationship between Wei's father and mother, and Wei Xifeng was simply a replica of Wei's father!
The child she raised has gone astray again over the past twenty years.
No, we absolutely cannot let Wei Xifeng become a second Wei Fu. Most importantly, the apocalypse must never come again.
"Xiao Feng, you're not allowed to threaten girls."
Jiang Liwu walked over and patted Qiao Yiran's shoulder reassuringly. Qiao Yiran looked puzzled. Wei Xifeng reacted strongly by standing up, making a loud noise that knocked over some tableware on the table, which then shattered with a series of crashes.
Qiao Yiran was startled, thinking that it was because she was dawdling that Wei Xifeng had lost his temper.
Wei Xifeng's entire attention was focused on Jiang Liwu, a person who seemed so real yet so illusory. His pupils dilated, his gaze fixed on her, not daring to blink, his eyes reddened from the shock.
He wanted to say it was impossible, and he wanted to loudly question who this person was, where they learned of the teacher's existence, how they collected information about his appearance, and what their purpose was in impersonating the teacher.
But when he met Jiang Liwu's calm eyes, he only needed a glance to confirm it.
She was his teacher.
Jiang Liwu walked over, and Wei Xifeng suddenly panicked, "Don't come any closer."
Jiang Liwu paused, while Wei Xifeng tilted his head slightly, his gaze still fixed intently on Jiang Liwu. He instructed the servant beside him, "Clean this place up, and clean it thoroughly."
The servants quickly cleaned up and replaced the tableware.
When Jiang Liwu went over again, Wei Xifeng didn't stop her. "Xiaofeng, you can't throw a tantrum like that." Jiang Liwu also felt that Wei Xifeng's appearance of wanting to overturn the table just now was a fit of temper.
Wei Xifeng was at a loss for words. "I didn't."
Qiao Yiran looked surprised. Who was this woman who suddenly appeared, and why did she call Wei Xifeng "Xiao Feng" so naturally? Most importantly, Wei Xifeng didn't get angry or refute her.
You should know that she had been by Wei Xifeng's side for three years but had never been able to call him "Xiao Feng".
Jiang Liwu's stomach began to rumble from the aroma wafting from the table. She pulled Wei Xifeng down to sit, saying, "Alright, sit down and eat. I'm hungry too." Wei Xifeng obediently sat down, a hint of moisture flashing in his eyes. So it wasn't a dream; the person who had been with him yesterday was his teacher.
The breakfast was incredibly lavish, with milk oatmeal porridge, crystal shrimp dumplings, grilled sausages, avocado omelets, caviar bread, fruit and vegetable salad, and more filling a long table.
Jiang Liwu, her appetite whetted, ate a dumpling first, and the taste made her feel blissfully happy.
She hadn't eaten such delicious food in a long time.
Before the world restarted, resources were scarce in the post-apocalyptic world, so food like this was out of the question. When Jiang Liwu traveled back twenty years to save the world, she also didn't eat or sleep well because she was carrying a heavy burden on her shoulders.
Now I can finally enjoy myself.
Qiao Yiran stood awkwardly in place, looking at the seat that was originally hers that Jiang Liwu had taken. She didn't know whether to go over or sit down. She looked at Wei Xifeng again and found that Wei Xifeng was ignoring her.
Biting her lip, Qiao Yiran silently sat back down in her original spot.
It would be better not to go; she didn't want to go in the first place anyway.
Wei Xifeng had so much to say to Jiang Liwu, but seeing how content Jiang Liwu was with her meal, all his words turned into a silent gaze.
Jiang Liwu picked up a dumpling and put it on his plate.
Qiao Yiran secretly shook her head, realizing that Wei Xifeng would not eat it.
The next second, Wei Xifeng swallowed the dumpling in one gulp.
Qiao Yiran's eyes widened. She recalled that she had once put food on Wei Xifeng's plate, but Wei Xifeng hadn't eaten it and had told her not to do anything unnecessary.
Wei Xifeng continued to look at Jiang Liwu, his eyes seemingly revealing a hint of longing. He sat quietly as if waiting to be fed.
Qiao Yiran was shocked and somewhat flustered. She watched as Wei Xifeng ate the food Jiang Liwu had picked up, without showing the slightest disgust or displeasure.
The spoon, held shakily, fell onto the plate with a crisp, unmistakable sound.
The only one looking over was Jiang Liwu.
As Qiao Yiran stood up, the chair made a creaking sound. "I'm full." In the past, Wei Xifeng wouldn't allow her to leave the table early, even if she had finished eating, she had to sit and wait for Wei Xifeng.
This time, however, Wei Xifeng did not force her to stay, and Qiao Yiran only saw Wei Xifeng's profile.
Feeling somewhat uncomfortable, Qiao Yiran left the restaurant without lingering.
After Jiang Liwu finished eating and drinking, she put down her utensils. Seeing this, Wei Xifeng also stopped eating.
As she reached for a tissue to wipe herself, Wei Xifeng handed her a clean handkerchief.
Jiang Liwu paused for a moment, then took it and smiled at Wei Xifeng.
Uncle Wang, who witnessed this scene, was secretly astonished. In his understanding, the head of the family had never taken care of anyone, and even Qiao Yiran, who received some special treatment from the head of the family, had never enjoyed such treatment.
"Do you have a cell phone?"
"Yes." Wei Xifeng immediately handed over his phone.
Halfway through handing it over, he began demonstrating the phone's unlocking functions to Jiang Liwu, showing her how to unlock the phone in daily life, using fingerprint, facial recognition, iris scan, and so on.
In his mind, although he didn't know how his teacher had come back to life, he was still essentially an old relic from twenty years ago.
Watching Wei Xifeng earnestly explain the various software functions, Jiang Liwu smiled and ruffled his hair, "Xiao Feng is like a teacher now."
Wei Xifeng's ears turned slightly red.
“I know all of what Xiaofeng taught me, because I originally belonged here.”
