Chapter 1100 - 448: Child Difficulty_3
Watching the meteor flying by, the group stood still."With Chadite here, things inexplicably feel lighter." Alka crouched down and said with a smile.
Quickly, the meteor flew back again.
"What is that thing?"
"This demon resembling a raven must have summoned the flock we saw earlier. Perhaps the Mouth of Devourment uses it against us. However, it’s too weak, only a Fourth Stage Perfection."
Chadite said somewhat puzzled.
"Forget it, don’t worry about those things. Let’s quicken our pace."
He then addressed the Puppet Girl on his shoulder: "Send a message to Lucilia, tell her we’ve encountered a small wave of enemies here, and remind them to be cautious of the surroundings."
The Puppet Girl nodded and transmitted the message.
Approaching nighttime, Alka and the others finally reached their destination. Like before, it was a boundless wasteland, but this time without even trees.
"Is it also buried underground this time?" Chadite asked, pausing.
Alka nodded: "That’s right, it’s underground as well."
After hearing this, Chadite began wandering around, silver ripples continuously expanding downward.
Returning after a circuit, he said, "I didn’t find any voids, but I did come across several corpses, which should have something on them."
"That should be these corpses," Alka said, having Chadite lead him over.
In this small area, there were three corpses in total.
Located at different depths, none more than 30 meters deep.
They approached the upper side of the first corpse.
Alka controlled his brown Earth Card.
Without Simon, the Earth Card was certainly skilled at digging.
Placing his hand on the ground, it began to bubble like it was boiling, the soil loosening, then erupting like mud.
It formed a small mound around them. Alka carefully controlled it, little by little managing the earth and stones flying up, the circular hole deepening.
Moreover, it was safe and stable.
Finally, Alka felt the corpse, now a complete skeleton, pushed out from the hole by the shifting soil, fallen beside the mound.
Alka looked over.
The skeleton was adorned in armor, though it was completely rusted and damaged.
This was likely a soldier, still having a broken spear lodged in his chest, the cause of death clear.
Beside the skeleton, Alka moved again, this time unearthed a heap of broken bones, seemingly a horse’s remains.
So this was a knight’s place of death, fallen here with his warhorse.
"Looks like this isn’t it."
With that, they followed Chadite to the second site, with the sky turning dark.
Night fully arrived.
Yet, possessing high-priority Dark Vision, night and day made no great difference to them.
Continuing the earlier procedure, consuming Magic Power and energy to dig.
Further delving underground, the soil carrying the corpse spewed out effortlessly, conveniently, and quickly.
Amidst flying sand and gravel.
This skeleton was pushed up.
As the corpse flew out, Alka saw a golden light among the pile.
In the night, the golden light was brilliantly bright.
Quickly controlling the Jade Pendant to retrieve it, he stepped over.
This object wrapped in golden lines was a close-fitting dagger.
About the length from forearm to elbow, covered in dirt and grime.
"So is this the Treasure?" Julia asked, looking at the dirt-covered dagger Alka held.
Alka smiled and nodded.
Eyeing the dagger, the surrounding group stood in silence, not sure what to say.
Previously, they had to probe and dig for coffins, but this time it was uncommonly easy.
Only an hour altogether after a day’s journey.
It was indeed like picking up money.
For a moment, they couldn’t decide what words were suitable.
"Alright, don’t be so dull, isn’t this good news? Obtaining Treasure so easily."
With that, Alka pushed the heap of bones back into the hole, covered them, incidentally placing a wooden board as a temporary grave marker.
Not knowing the deceased’s name, this was the simplest memorial he could build, a gesture of gratitude.
Water began wrapping the dagger, cleaning it.
Soon, the original look of the dagger was revealed to everyone.
The length hadn’t changed, but the width was slightly more than a typical dagger, about three fingers wide.
After cleaning, one could see its sharp blade, yet the entire sword was peculiarly simple.
If not for its sharp appearance, it would be indistinguishable from a common dagger.
Not even a standard military weapon, as it didn’t meet such specifications, resembling a civilian self-defense tool.
"A weapon-type Treasure, though it’s unknown what functions it has."
Hearing Chadite, Alka nonchalantly shrugged, tossing the Treasure into the space.
"Whatever, let’s head back to the camp. We’ll find out eventually."
Unfortunately, Alka believed these three Treasures might be easily obtained, while the others were still a mystery.
Enjoy this simple joy of treasure hunting; it may be rare later on.
Come swiftly, leave swiftly.
The group traversed the night, reaching the camp likely around dawn.
In the darkness, they saw the campfires burning.
Judging by the flames, it seemed recently kindled.
"Jason and the others have returned?"
With that, Alka entered the camp.
Just as he spotted Jason.
It seemed they too had only recently returned, given the freshly started fire.
But facing Alka’s return, Jason’s smile appeared slightly awkward.
