Xie Sunan stared down, eyes swimming with disbelief.
The Slime had a low potential rating. Logically, the higher a Beast Tamer's level, the more it should fall behind higher-rated contract spirits.
But from what he was seeing, Level 9 A-rank spirits were still nothing but little brothers in front of this thing.
"It's all about heart!" Chen Shu declared. "The power of love is limitless!"
"Oh, give it a rest!"
While the three of them bantered, the Slime's Charge had finished cooling down below.

The Slime rampaged across Taiping Mountain like an unstoppable tank, grinding trees to splinters — nothing could slow it down.
Eventually, the surviving Fire Snakes retreated into a massive cave in the mountainside.
"You're just digging your own grave!"
Chen Shu flashed a grin and sent the Slime charging in.
Barring any surprises, the fight would be over in three minutes!
However — a mere ten seconds later — the Slime came rocketing back out. Clearly, there had been a surprise.
"Holy crap, Chen Pi! That was fast! You already finished them off?"
Xu Xingxing and Xie Sunan's eyes went wide, stunned at the Slime's apparent efficiency.
"Finished my ass!"
Chen Shu's expression froze, something heavy settling into his gaze.
"Are you blind?! The Slime's butt is charred black!"
He sent the Slime into a full-speed Charge, heading straight for the trio's position.
At the same time, his eyes locked onto the cave mouth.
The Slime right now was unquestionably the strongest existence below Black Iron rank. There was only one thing that could hurt it:
A Black Iron-rank Fierce Beast!

A bone-chilling hiss echoed from the cave. An enormous serpent emerged, its body covered head to tail in crimson scales.

Chen Shu called out. A Fierce Beast swarm this massive was way beyond the scope of a million-yuan job.
No amount of pay made this worth it!
The Mutant Thunderbird let out a sharp trill, wings flaring as it dove toward the Slime at top speed.
The moment the distance closed, Chen Shu recalled the Slime.

Then, in an instant, a massive snake head came smashing toward them.
Luckily, the Mutant Thunderbird's speed was no joke — it narrowly dodged the attack.
