Chapter 264 Finale
Chapter 264 Finale
The carriage moved forward. Xiaohuan's eyes were red. She lifted the curtain and waved to the girls. She lowered the curtain only when no one was visible anymore.
Shang Wan handed her a handkerchief and consoled her, "It's not like we won't see each other anymore. Hurry up and wipe your tears. Sister Shu said that on your wedding day, they will all come to give you some dolls and send you off."
Xiao Huan blushed and glared at Shang Wan, "I won't get married."
"Yes, yes, I won't get married." Shang Wan saw that she had stopped crying, so she smiled and pinched her red face, "Stay at home, I will support you."
"Sister!" Xiaohuan's sadness of separation completely disappeared.
The convoy had only gone one mile when it stopped again.
Beside the official road, nearly twenty people, young and old, including Old Man Wu, Old Man Li, Li Dashan, Li Xiaoshan, Aunt Zhou, Madam Rong, etc., stood by the roadside, specially to see Shang Wan and his family off.
Behind them were two donkey carts, which were bulging with bags of all sizes, including several baskets of chicken and duck eggs, tied live chickens and ducks, and even a lamb that was bleating.
Shang Wan and the others all got out of the car and walked in front of the crowd.
"We heard that you were leaving today, so the villagers gathered some things and came to see you off." Old Man Wu rubbed his hands. "We didn't dare to pack too much because we were worried that it would cause trouble for you. There are mostly food in the car, so you can take it with you on the way."
He turned around and pointed at the largest flowered bundle. "It contains winter clothes that your aunts have hurriedly made. One for each person. They are made of good material and are not prickly. The weather is getting colder, so don't get cold on the road."
"We won't be cold, we..." Before Shitou could finish his words, Lu Chengjing covered his mouth, put on a rare smile on his face, and thanked him in a gentle voice.
"Our hands are rough, and they can't compare to the embroidery made by the ladies in the building. You can just wear it on the road." Aunt Zhou took Shang Wan's hand with concern, "You are pregnant, so take care of yourself on the road and leave your worry to others. Come back when you have time in the future, we miss you."
Shang Wan smiled and said, "Thank you for your concern, aunts. Your craftsmanship is better than that of ten embroiderers. When the weather gets cold, I will wear it every day."
"My sister-in-law's mouth is as sweet as honey today." Madam Rong joked and pulled Xiaohuan over to talk.
"Sister, when I grow up, I will bring my younger sister to find you and work for you." Li Xiaoshan sniffed and looked at Shang Wan eagerly, "Is that okay?"
"I don't accept people with no ability here." Shang Wan reached out and patted his head, "Study hard in school and don't skip school again."
At the beginning of the year, after Shang Wan came back from the provincial capital, he paid for the construction of a school in the village. Lu Chengjing helped to invite two teachers who had taught in the county school, and the monthly tuition was paid from the account of Lingyao Pavilion.
As long as the children are from Yushu Village and the adults in their family are involved in preparing medicinal materials, they can go to school for free.
Just for this one thing, who in the village would not be grateful?
"I will study hard." Li Xiaoshan raised his hand to promise, "My little sister will study hard too."
Shang Wan smiled and said, "I will write to the teacher to inquire about your situation. If you really study well and have a promising future, you don't need to come. I will send someone to pick you up."
"Really? Sis, don't lie to me."
Shang Wan nodded, "I won't lie to you."
Li Xiaoshan jumped for joy and decided to study hard when he got back!
"Take care!" Li Dashan patted Lu Chengjing and Shitou on the shoulders. "Write to let us know you're safe when you get there."
Lu Chengjing nodded in agreement.
Everyone stood and talked for nearly two quarters of an hour. Ah Le sat in the carriage and looked out, with some envy in his eyes.
"Master, it's so quiet here, not lively at all."
Qiao Yu'an slapped him in annoyance, "Is it lively like this morning?"
Thinking of the noise in the morning, Ale shrank his neck and decided to avoid that kind of excitement.
"It's getting late. Don't miss the next destination." Old Man Wu looked at the sky and said to everyone, "Everyone, help move the things off the donkey cart and load them onto the horse carriage."
Hearing this, everyone started to move. Shi Changsheng also brought people to help with the moving, and soon all the things were moved into the carriage.
If there was not enough room in the carriage, they would use hemp ropes to tie it to the roof of the carriage.
They waved and watched the villagers leave in their donkey carts. Only when they were out of sight did Shang Wan and his family get back into the carriage.
Shitou pursed his lips and raised his hand to rub his chest. Chu Xu looked at him with a pair of cat eyes, bright and lively, "Do you want to cry?"
"I don't want to." Shitou turned his head and uttered two words harshly.
He didn't know what it felt like.
When his brother-in-law was imprisoned, they had nowhere to go and had to move to the village.
At that time, they only had a thatched hut and were unfamiliar with the villagers. The Chen family also tried every means to make things difficult for them. Xiaohuan and Yuanyuan were almost killed, and their lives were quite miserable.
Now that they were leaving, everyone pooled together some things to see them off.
Shitou looked out the window and thought that he would definitely come back to visit again in the future.
The carriage was filled with a depressed atmosphere. Even Lu Chengjing was in a trance. His eyes turned several times, and no one knew where his mind was wandering.
Shang Wan glanced at everyone in the carriage. Except for the two kids, everyone else looked listless.
She cleared her throat. "Why are you all so sad?"
Everyone looked over here.
"Are you sure you can get into the top three?"
Lu Chengjing: “…”
"Have you finished memorizing the books that Dean Luo gave you?"
Stone:"……"
"Have you figured out a new dish?"
Xiao Huan: “…”
Shang Wan blinked: "Are you still sad now?"
Three people: "..."
Suddenly I don't feel sad anymore.
Lu Chengjing and Shitou started reading, Xiaohuan started thinking about her new dishes, and the atmosphere in the carriage suddenly became positive.
Shopkeeper Shang stuffed two slices of tangerine into his mouth with satisfaction.
In the last days, people have no tomorrow after today, separation is the norm, and there is no habit of feeling sad about the passing of time.
Instead of spending this time, she might as well think about how to expand her business empire.
The capital is prosperous, Suzhou and Hangzhou are wealthy, and there is plenty of money waiting for her to earn.
Let’s set a small goal first, and open spiritual medicine pavilions all over the country!
Who knows, maybe she will be the richest businessman in the Zhou Dynasty in ten years.

The author's thoughts:
Thanks to all the guys who have read to the end. During this period of serialization, I have become familiar with many of their IDs. Thank you for your recommendations, monthly tickets and rewards. Your support gives me the motivation to update.
This is my first attempt at writing a farming story. I don’t have enough experience, so I feel like I wrote a weird story with the wrong focus. I wanted to give up halfway through, but thinking that there are still people who are following me, I rushed to write an ending. (Okay, I know I’m sorry for those who are following me, but I really tried my best T^T, please forgive me)
Maybe this is not the ending I imagined at the beginning (haha, the outline was cut in half)
But... that's it, I'll keep working on the next book!
PS: After reading this, please move your lucky hands and give a good review! (Shamelessly asking, running away~)
