Chapter 579 Transformers

Chapter 579 Transformers

Scorpion seemed very interested upon hearing the name. He examined the blueprint repeatedly, a happy smile spreading across his face, and he kept muttering, "Transformers, Transformers..."

Zhang Hai found it somewhat amusing. "Transformers" was merely a fantasy he'd casually sketched to fill space; it was utterly impossible to create. With current technology, building a transforming flying puppet was simply a pipe dream. So, he interrupted Scorpion's reverie, suggesting, "Scorpion, 'Transformers' is too difficult. Let's start with a simple eagle puppet."

However, Scorpion pouted, clearly indicating his opposition. He shook his head vigorously and stubbornly said, "No! I want to be a 'Transformers' puppet!" His little face was full of determination.

Seeing Scorpion throwing a childish tantrum, Zhang Hai couldn't help but find it amusing. He changed his strategy, a tempting smile on his face, and suggested, "How about this, we'll make an eagle puppet together first. While we're making it, I'll tell you a story from 'Transformers,' okay?"

Upon hearing that there was a story, Scorpion's anger immediately turned to joy. His big eyes lit up, and he exclaimed excitedly, "Great! I want to hear a story!" He nodded vigorously, agreeing to the suggestion of making an eagle puppet.

Thus, in Sasori's small room, various puppet-making materials were scattered all over the floor. Chakra threads densely covered the entire room, weaving between the two. Zhang Hai and Sasori's fingers moved in rapid coordination, skillfully manipulating the chakra threads to orderly assemble, recombine, and shape the various materials.

As Zhang Hai worked on the project, he told Scorpion the story of "Transformers." He roughly adapted the plot involving Megatron and Optimus Prime, vividly recounting the war between the Autobots and Decepticons, and their battles for the Energon cubes. Scorpion listened with great interest, occasionally letting out exclamations of amazement, his little face filled with longing for the unknown world.

Soon, a lifelike puppet eagle was completed through the combined efforts of the two. Its wings were outstretched, its lines were smooth, and it looked quite beautiful.

Zhang Hai connected the chakra threads to the puppet eagle and flew it out of the house. Above the clear desert sky of Sunagakure, the eagle puppet slowly rose into the air, emitting a simulated whistling sound.

However, Zhang Hai frowned as he watched the eagle's flight speed. It was much slower than he had expected, appearing rather sluggish. As the eagle ascended to higher altitudes, the strong winds made its flight extremely unstable, swaying from side to side, threatening to cause it to lose control and crash at any moment.

Zhang Hai could only use chakra to carefully and slowly fly the eagle puppet back into the house.

Scorpion looked at Zhang Hai expectantly and asked happily, "Big brother, how was the effect?"

Zhang Hai shook his head, a hint of disappointment on his face. "The results are far below expectations," he sighed. "It's only good for playing around. Using it for anything else would be suicide." He was very dissatisfied with the outcome.

Scorpion sensed Zhang Hai's dissatisfaction with the eagle puppet and stopped dwelling on it. His large eyes filled with interest as he looked at the other design drawings spread out on the ground, pointed to one of them, and excitedly exclaimed, "Let's make the other puppets!"

Zhang Hai looked at the paintings, pondering for a moment. He knew the problem wasn't with the design of the eagle puppet itself, but with the shortcomings in its construction. He sensed that the eagle lacked something crucial, the essence that would truly make it powerful and allow for flexible control.

Zhang Hai fell into deep thought. He repeatedly recalled the internal structure of the puppet eagle and the various parameters during its flight, but he still couldn't figure out what crucial element was missing inside the puppet eagle to allow it to achieve the performance he expected. He felt as if he were looking through a thin veil, clearly seeing the direction but unable to touch the core.

Seeing Zhang Hai's troubled expression, Scorpion kindly suggested, "Big brother, are you tired? Why don't we go play something else fun?"

Zhang Hai looked up at Scorpion's expectant eyes and a thought struck him. Relaxing a bit might be good; inspiration might strike unexpectedly. Besides, he firmly believed that the direction of the eagle puppet's creation was correct; there was no need to rush it now.

"Okay," Zhang Hai agreed with a smile.

Scorpion immediately perked up. He took out a small, mouse-like puppet from his bag, pressed a few buttons, and the little mouse nimbly scouted ahead. Scorpion then held Zhang Hai's hand, and the two walked cautiously, afraid of being discovered.

Zhang Hai asked Scorpion in a low voice, "Scorpion, where are you taking me?"

Scorpion made a shushing gesture, then quietly leaned close to Zhang Hai's ear and whispered, "This is Granny Chiyo's secret room, and she never lets outsiders in! I only stumbled upon it by accident!" His tone was tinged with mystery and excitement.

Zhang Hai was filled with curiosity about Chiyo's secret room. What could this master of puppetry possibly hold in her secret room? Was it an even more advanced puppet technique, or some kind of forbidden ninjutsu?

After the little mouse puppet returned from scouting ahead, Scorpion led Zhang Hai to a door deep in a corridor. The door blended seamlessly into the surrounding walls; without careful observation, it would be completely unnoticeable. Scorpion then took out a sharp-beaked bird puppet from his robes, fiddled with its beak on the keyhole a few times, and with a "click," the door opened.

The two entered the room, and Scorpion skillfully found the light switch and turned on the lights. As the lights came on, Zhang Hai's eyes widened in surprise at the sight inside. This wasn't the puppet workshop he had imagined, but a room filled with all sorts of bottles and jars. Test tubes, beakers, and graduated cylinders were neatly arranged on shelves, and a faint, pungent odor filled the air—it was practically a chemistry laboratory.

"This is where Granny Chiyo makes poison!" Scorpion introduced to Zhang Hai, a hint of pride in his voice. He casually picked up a transparent bottle, pointed to the label on it, and said in a childish voice, "Look, this label says 'mildly poisonous,' and this one says 'highly poisonous'!" He pointed to one of the bottles filled with a red liquid, the liquid of which was eerily bright, and it was the highly poison that Scorpion had mentioned.

Zhang Hai's heart skipped a beat. Poison... He immediately realized that the place Sasori had brought him to was actually one of the most secretive core technologies of Sunagakure! Poison was a specialty of Sunagakure and an important means for them to defeat their enemies.
