Chapter 294 Premonition (1)
Chapter 294 Premonition (1)
"I see," said Hermione, rubbing her forehead. "But this is really unexpected. Mr. Crouch has gone mad."
"That's terrible. Percy would be heartbroken if he knew," Ron said quickly. "But, Harry, are you really okay?"
"I think so. Madam Pomfrey said I'm fine." Harry shook his head and said, "But I need to rest here for a few days."
Lamia sat beside Harry's bed, looking out the window boredly. It was recess time and there were many students on the lawn.
"Where do you think he could be hiding? He can't Apparate on the Hogwarts grounds. He's definitely still at Hogwarts," said Hermione.
"I don't know, Hermione, I don't remember anything at that time. I fainted from the pain." Harry touched his knee unconsciously, still feeling scared.
"Hmm... could it be that," said Ron excitedly, "Krum attacked Crouch - er - and then put a Stunning Charm on himself!"
"And then Mr. Crouch turned to steam, didn't he?" said Hermione grimly.
"Ah, this..."
Ron rubbed his head awkwardly and stopped talking.
"Lamia, what's wrong with you? Why do you look absent-minded?" After Hermione said this to Ron, she turned her head and saw Lamia, who had been silent. She was looking out the window calmly, and there seemed to be something there that attracted her.
Hermione followed her gaze and saw only students playing and laughing, and rushing to the classroom with their books.
"What are you looking at?" Hermione asked confusedly. She didn't see anything different.
"Hermione, look there." Lamia pointed to the Forbidden Forest in the distance. It wasn't too far away, just next to Hagrid's Hut.
"That's where Mr. Crouch disappeared last night. It's strange, isn't it? There's no place to hide around." Lamia looked serious.
It turns out she had been watching this.
Hermione patted Lamia's shoulder and said, "Don't think about it, Lamia. We are just students. There is only so much we can do. You should think more about the third project. I don't think it will be as simple as we think."
……
In the afternoon, Harry was able to get out of bed. Of course, it was not because his body was good enough to recover so quickly, but because Hermione used Dittany on him.
"Are we really going?" asked Ron.
Now they stood looking out over the foggy grounds.
"Tell me again, Lamia," said Hermione. "What did Mr. Crouch say?"
"He was talking incoherently before I left," Lamia said. "He said he wanted to warn Dumbledore. He must have mentioned Bertha Jorkins. He seemed to think she was dead. He kept saying it was all his fault. He also mentioned his son."
"Yes, after Lamia left, I was attacked by him. He pressed on my knee. Speaking of this, it still hurts a little now." Harry said, rubbing his knee.
"He's done a really bad thing," said Hermione angrily.
"He's unhinged," said Harry. "He seems to think his wife and son are still alive half the time. He's always telling Percy about work and giving him instructions."
"Hey...what did he say about the You-Know-Who?" Ron asked tentatively.
"I told you," said Harry glumly. "He said the man was getting stronger."
After a pause, Ron pretended to be certain and said, "But you said he was mentally ill, so probably half of what he said was crazy..."
"This is different, Ron, Harry is right, Crouch must know something." Lamia said.
As they were talking, several people had already walked to the door of the Owl Shed. Lamia and the others stayed there, while Harry went in alone. He wanted to send a letter to Sirius, and the address was only known to him.
"If what Harry said is true, what should we do, Lamia?" Hermione was nervous.
"Instead of worrying about this, you might as well worry about how to get through the Divination class later. Besides, there are so many professors here, they will definitely be able to defeat the You-Know-Who again." Ron said calmly, but his lips kept trembling.
Lamia sighed, she wanted to tell them that Tom was the mysterious man, but she couldn't.
"Don't worry, Hermione, Ron is right. The professors will protect us." Lamia finally said.
Lamia now forced herself to treat them as fictional. As long as the mission was completed, she could leave. This world was just a fake to her.
"Well, I guess I'll get a reply from Sirius tomorrow." Harry walked out of the shed.
"What's wrong? Why do you look so sad?"
Hermione said nothing, and even the usually talkative Ron was speechless at the moment.
"It's okay, they're just tired. I think we should go to class now. Professor Trelawney's Divination classroom is a bit far from here." Lamia changed the subject. She was thinking that she could do something good when she left, such as helping them deal with Tom, or Voldemort, but not now.
"Yeah, goodbye then." Hermione walked dejectedly to the other side. She was going to the Arithmancy class, while Lamia, Harry and Ron were going to the North Building for Divination class.
The dazzling golden sunlight cast a wide band of light through the high windows in the corridor, and the blue sky outside the window was as bright as if it had just been glazed.
"Traolini's classroom must be as hot as a steamer. She never puts out the stove," Ron said as they ascended the stairs that led to the silver staircase and trap door.
"But there's nothing we can do, Ron." Harry spread his hands. He also didn't like this subject.
"Stop talking, we have to hurry, otherwise we will be late." Lamia walked in front. She didn't want to attract Snape's attention at all.
The dim classroom was, as expected, stiflingly hot, and the smell of incense was even stronger than usual.
Lamia sat in a seat by the window. Unfortunately, the curtains were drawn on the window, and the cramped space made Lamia feel dizzy. While Professor Trelawney was removing the shawl hanging on the lamp, she secretly opened the window a crack, then leaned back in the armchair covered with Indian prints. A gentle breeze blew on her face, making her feel very comfortable.
"My dears," said Professor Trelawney, sitting in a winged armchair, scanning them with her unusually large eyes, "we have almost finished our course on planetary divination. But today would be a very good day to examine the effects of Mars, as it is in a very interesting position at present. If you will, look this way while I turn out the light..."
She waved her wand and all the lights went out, leaving the fire as the only source of light.
Professor Trelawney bent down and took out a small model of the solar system from under her chair. It was housed in a round glass dome. The model was very beautiful, with the burning sun, the nine planets, and their satellites suspended in the glass dome, gleaming in their respective positions.
Lamia watched calmly as Professor Trelawney began to explain the curious angle formed by Mars and Neptune.
This class was the most boring one Lamia had ever taken. She couldn't help but feel sleepy, especially with the breeze blowing.
Lamia turned her head and found that Harry had fallen asleep without her knowing, and Ron beside him also had drooping eyelids.
